Description
Rockstar Games celebrates the 10th anniversary of one of the most influential games of all time. The critically acclaimed blockbuster Grand Theft Auto III comes to mobile devices, bringing to life the dark and seedy underworld of Liberty City. With a massive and diverse open world, a wild cast of characters from every walk of life and the freedom to explore at will, Grand Theft Auto III puts the dark, intriguing and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips.
Gameplay
This IS Grand Theft Auto, despite being on a touch screen it plays like any other game in the GTA series. The open world is just as open as the original GTA III and just as smooth, engine updates such as jumping out of moving cars or upgraded physics are not apparent since it was not in the original game but gameplay is still amazing especially on the iPads gorgeous display. If your a GTA fan you’ll feel right at home here, no compromises have been made. The game and it’s new touch interface load very quickly unlike other gta open world clones on iOS creating an immersive feeling.
Controls
When playing on a touch screen the controls can save or kill a game. In the case of GTA 3 it’s the best controls i’ve every used on a touch screen, all the buttons are in the right place and responsiveness is top notch making gameplay very intuitive.Camera controls like the PSP version of GTA have been taken out, but the auto camera work very well. This makes GTA 3 more than just a niche-game and feels like a complete experience.
Graphics
The amount of pixels and shaders on the screen won’t blow you away but we have to remember this game has aged. Despite that it still manages to impress, I still remember playing GTA 3 on my big fat ps2 back in the day and having the same game on a super thin iPad 2 leaves a lasting effect. Also like I said before no compromises have been made, in terms of graphics everything is just as the original, and that’s why we love it.
Summary
I can’t say this enough, this is one game no one (over the age of 18) should miss out on, for only $5 you can experience the entirety of GTA III for the first time or for a trip down memory lane. Anyone with an Android or iOS device can try this right now!
